HYSTERIA
SHORT FILM I 4M33 I
Filmed in the reflective lenses of an «Hysterical» character, «Hysteria» is a short video of 4.33 min that respond to freud’s perception. In A study about hysteria and Neurosis, psychosis and perversion, Freud digs into the psychos and the physical impacts of what he calls a sickness. From the Oedipus complex to the male idealization and sexual frustrations this collaborative experimental video revisited his theory with a nowadays woman point of view.

Like a large close-up in DNA, «Hysteria» encapsulated the inside of essence by it’s theatrical opening image. With an « Hairy-frame » dress like red curtain, it portrait’s the entrance of the sicken mind. Inspired from psycho-drama to surrealist movies, the film organically evolves through the neural systems of the protagonist with a series of imaginary physical symptoms. Where Emotion is visually emphasized and translated with inventive-interactive object, the internal sickness is depicted as a fluffy womb. If Dalí may have considered the «eye-Slicing» in An Andalusian dog, it’s been replace with a self scarification right into the chest. While a « shady robe of knife » trapping her naked body, it frozen her into deep spasm of thought.
