LE JE D'ECHEC
'Le Je d'échec is a psycho-dramatic film about being, time, and acceptation. Here, the ancient Descartes philosophy of the “Cogito ergo sum” is stripped down again and contrasted with Levinas’ contemporary theories on our essence and our need for escape: being takes on the first role and is not shaped by the thinking but by its physicality and its embraced finitude.
A woman is trapping herself within thoughts, in a constant fight between accepting the essence of being or being caught in-between her attachment to the past and her oppression of the future. In the theatre of life, she discovers acceptance on the stages she creates, where being rhymes with acting, the only place where pretending is not hidden but embraced. A presence follows her on this journey, a metaphor of her revelations, that she sees only when she is at the closest to herself: in the spotlight of her projections.'
